A grid cycle earns the grid step and pays two fills. Fees decide whether that is profit or charity to the exchange.

How to read it
Each completed grid cycle buys and sells one level: gross profit is the grid step, cost is 2 x fee per side. At 0.1% per side and a 0.3% step, fees eat 67% of gross - the classic failure mode of over-tight grids. Community tests on Pionex found ~0.24% spacing annualizing near 29% while 1000-grid setups annualized near 12% on the same range: more cycles, less per cycle, more fees.
